You've all played, created, or glorified heroes.
Time to step up and be one!

Like Joss Whedon! (Support characters can be heroes too, Ted, I'm proof of that.) I'm amazingly awesome, can, and am dying to help.

With all of you, what I want to say is: You all are specifically my fault. Sorry! How can I help? Let me help. And, how can I get you, in return, to help in your own way? For my part, I'm picketing, distributing flyers, creating a web presence. If you think picketing is easy, try it while you're dying; have no energy, can't be in the sun, can't breath car exhaust, and are living in the "Fourth Reich"! More About me.

Once I was woken to the reality of the situation ("shelved" / "shafted"), Apr 24, 2009, and was, literally, able to get out of bed, after two years; I've been trying to do my part fighting the Zombie Apocalypse. To my mind, a zombie is someone that knows what's going on and will do nothing to stop the situation. Or worse!

You are all near and dear to me and I've been looking for you to tell you that and see how I can help. But, I have no skills at finding people. I understand the inner workings of the media business not at all. I'm a techy type, living in the San Francisco south bay. I live next to the new Apple building in Sunnyvale. :-o  I have little faith of success in contacting you by mail, email, or phone, so I've been targeting in-person, since 2012. Look for me at SDCC 2017.

The early days. This is me here on San Vincente Blvd being a hero.

The sign was made for SDCC 2014 but my family was poisoned with bad milk, resulting in the death of my 2 year-old dog.

Personal Messages To You

Dear Joss,

I've been trying to reach you for quite a few years now, to tell you how much I appreciate your work and to offer my help in your efforts to make this a better world. "The Avengers", "Dr. Horrible", "Firefly", "Serenity", "BTVS", every one a masterpiece. You have heart-warming talent! You might not need my help, but I'd sure like to offer it!

Mostly I've been trying to find your house-- Sorry, I can't think of anything else to do! Picketing along Wilshire and San Vincente Blvds. And distributing flyers to houses in Santa Monica. On leaving a note at "Willow's" house, I was threatened at my home by a Chinese "Yakuza"! Thing is, I hadn't left any contact information. And she no longer lived there!

I've been in the neighbourhood at Halloween. Did you know the bulk of the trick-or-treaters gather in one location and say "game-time" cheers before descending on the houses?!

Hope to find you soon, Joss! Hope to find you well.

Dear Nate,

I haven't been trying to contact you. You have Alan Tudyk to help you thru this, Adam to help, and your wonderful Mercurial people-loving personality to lean on. Of course, if I see you, I'll offer my help. As I'd very much like to do.

In an appearance, with Adam and Jewel, you once said something to the effect, 'I've expected justice too much in my life.' To which, I'd like to say two things. One, "There's no cause lost, if there's but one fool left to fight for it." -- Will Turner, "Pirates of the Carribean" And, when the going gets tough, you don't just give up and walk away, you take action! As a sign along highway 101 says: "Freedom isn't free!"

Dear Adam,

I haven't been trying to contact you. You have Nathan to help you thru this and you have your family. I had no one! Of course, if I see you, I'll offer my help.

Dearest Tom,

I've been trying to reach you the longest as I knew about the, um, "event" as soon as I saw it, in 2010, but because I was going thru the same thing only in very poor health I wasn't able to consider starting to look for you 'til 2012. Also, You did play Superman for 10yrs... I hoped that had rubbed off a bit.

Maybe some people are able to find you, but that wouldn't be me! :-) Been trying since then, still haven't. :-(   I'll keep trying...!

I only visit Santa Monica and San Diego now as the air quality in West Hollywood is so poor (asthma) I want to burn my clothes on getting home!

Dear Bruce,

This is an email sent Aug 17, 2016. I'll try other contact venues, should this fail.

"Dear Bruce Campbell,

I'm dying. With my remaining time, I'm trying to save the world by contacting those I care about, and everyone, sharing what I know, and encouraging heroes. I only noticed the change this world has caused you within the last year, or I would have contacted you sooner. I saw that you have a lull in appearances this Halloween. This coincides with a trip I had planned to visit Medford. I have family in Grants Pass and Medford, but have a long tradtion of visiting there this time of year. If you'd like to speak to me, that could be any time between Oct 29-31. I have as much to say as you have time, and interest, to listen to about these days.

I am a long-time fan of your life's work, "Brisco County", "My Name is Bruce.", etc, etc, etc, and of your cynical and nerdy perspective :-) You are, in my opinion, an excellent role model. While I am a fan, I've only visited you at one of the theater presentations of MNIB. That would have been in California. Where, as an audience member, I asked if you would be making another audio CD like "Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way." These days I'm more concerned with your well-being and how I can help.

While a past tradition, I would be putting my health at risk coming into Oregon again, as differing regulations from California have the benzene levels at twice the concentration in the air there. (I found this out the hard way living in Portland.) A risk I would gladly be willing to take for the opportunity to see if I can be of any help to you.

A bit about me: I am a Mensan, techy type, -- As is my husband. -- who has, by necessity, had to be overly concerned with health issues throughout my life, dealing with them on my own. While I will surely fail to get the point across, I am not your average person, tho a fairly uninteresting one.

I appreciate any consideration you might have, but I would prefer only an in-person meeting. In any case, hold onto your hat, and be well. Thinking things out and caring about others is the key to being healthy these days. I just created a website, with you in mind-- Con-sort.com, which has my contact information."

Dear Ted,

Once I found out about Bruce, I saw what you're going thru. Have very much loved your performances in the Spider-man movies and and. Looks like this has hit you the hardest! :-(  Sorry!

Jul 4, 2016

Dear Sam Raimi,

I think the chances of this letter arriving safely in your hands is discouraging, which is why it's taken so long to write. But, I'm giving it a try anyway. That, and I don't quite know how to put into words what I want to say; I'm not use to writing much, other than emails. And don't like to communicate other than in person these days. Because I likely will not have many days left to do so, due to health reasons, I better send this off soon.

I saw _Evil Dead_ when it came out on video, so I've always known about your directing. And I've followed Bruce Campbell's career. It's only very recently that I've come to realize what a drastic mistake following the careers of actors, rather than directors, has been. Not focusing on the business, the writing, the message, the vision, more. But, then, directors only come to my attention now as a result of their work in the hero genre. Namely: you, Joss Whedon, David Twohy, John Carpenter.

I see a need for heroes now, the strength, the courage, the sacrifice, the clarity, the icon, they represent. And I'd like to be a part of bringing that message and vision to others. I've tried to contact Tom Welling, to see if he wouldn't consider taking his familiarity as Superman out into the real world to support real causes. And I've tried to contact Joss Whedon, to see if I could somehow help be a part of his doing just that. I've been in brief contact, passing, with Ted, your brother, and Bruce to see if they would consider being part of this message. And now I'm contacting you. How can I help?

While I'm trying to contact people involved with bringing the message of superheroes to the public, I wanted to be doing something meaningful myself. So I've been doing the only thing I could think of: picketing, with a general message about saving the world and doing so using Superman and Captain America symbols, handing out flyers, creating websites. You can damn well bet, I'm now carrying the Spider-man symbol along with me, as well! It's really unfortunate that Spider-man doesn't have an "S" as part of the icon, if you meet me or see my picket sign or flyers, you'll see why.

I was there, outside picketing and handing out flyers, at San Diego Comic Con 2016. I would be at more of these events, if my health and circumstances would permit. For instance, I missed out on SDCC 2014 because my dog was poisoned to death and the rest of the family made ill by bad milk. The last trip was so taxing it will be likely be my last. But only my health will prevent me from continuing to bring what I believe is a message of hope. I'm willing to, and have, put my life on the line to do so. The response to my efforts has been less than encouraging. My current message is: "Resist Believe Love, Save The World."

Recently I got to see _Jack of all Trades_. Do you know that it's like the only adult-comedy show ever made?! And I loved it. Thank you! Same with _American Gothic_.

But, I'm mostly writing as I said as a result of your work on the Spider-man movies. I think we need heroes these days for the hope they inspire in a time when the zombie genre is so prolific. Yes, even Deadites are an improvement to zombies. Your approach to those movies, and I'm speaking of the first two Spider-man movies, is so fresh and engaging.

I don't have to tell you, you're a great cinematographer. (Sorry, if I don't know the correct movie terminology.) But, what you did with Spider-man I and II was heart warming. (I see what happened with Spider-man III, that it was not your fault.) There were so many highlights for me in those two films, but I'll name a couple that stand out. The scene, in the first, at the funeral where Peter Parker says, "With great power comes great responsibility." His coat, for some reason, is so appropriate. Set so beautifully, adding power to those words. And the entire surgery scene of the second which ends with the puddle in the chainsaw. A masterpiece! I imagine the film's rating prevented more violence. Very well directed.

Look for my flyers when I visit the L.A. area, about 4x a year now. I used to drive down every other month, but it has become too exhausting for me. While there I make time to talk with anyone that wants to about our world and how best to approach it. It would, obviously, be nice to talk with you, should you be able to make time. I've included my flyer with contact information, but prefer to speak in person, reserving those to make appointments to meet, only.

I saw that you are considering doing a World War III movie and I wish you the best in making it a success. Love to help.

I think it's better to get this letter sent than to perfect it.
